LESSON PLAN IN ENGLISH V

I. II. Objective: Fill out deposit and withdrawal slips correctly. Subject Matter: Filling out Deposit and Withdrawal Slips Correctly. Reference: English Expressways Language page 11 English For All Times Language BEC Competencies 2 Materials: deposit slip, withdrawal slip, bank book, chart, flashcards

III. Teaching / Learning Procedure A. Preliminary Activities: 1. Review: Filling out information sheet 2. Motivation: Show to the class a bank book. 3. Unlocking of difficulties: - depositor - withdraw - figures - deposit - amount B. Teaching Activities: a. Presentation: 1. Presentation to the class a story entitled Cash Gift - Call pupils to read it. 2. Comprehension Check-up: - Who celebrated her birthday? - What did she received from her well wishers? - After her birthday, what did she plan for the money she received? - Who accompanied her to the bank? - According to her mother, when is deposit slip used? the withdrawal slip? 3. Present / Introduce Pupils Activity to do. - Post a replica of a deposit slip and withdrawal slip on the board. - Group the pupils into 3 groups. Give each group an activity to do. 4. Presentation of Outputs b. Analysis / Discussion: - What forms are shown? - What should a depositor enter in a deposit slip / withdrawal slip? - Guide / orient pupils to fill-up the forms. c. Generalization: - How do you fill-up a deposit slip? - What information should a depositor enter in a withdrawal slip? d. Application: 1. Group the class into four groups. Give each group a paper strips as their guide on what to do. 2. Showing and reporting their outputs. 3. Giving comments of their outputs.

IV. Evaluation: Direction: Fill-out the deposit and withdrawal slip base on the short paragraph given. Amor Perez went to Rural Bank last April 16, 2010 and deposited one thousand five hundred pesos (P1,500.00) in her account number 091-40-73487-3. On June 02, 2010, she withdraw seven hundred pesos (P700.00) to buy school supplies. V. Assignment: Make your own deposit and withdrawal slip in a long coupon bond.

Objectives of the Lesson Perform by group using the scripted club meeting. Identify the appropriate courteous expressions used in each sentence. Subject Matter: Topic: Club Meeting References Beam Learning Guide for 1st grading period Module 1 Club Meeting pages 19-20 Materials: Teacher Resource Material for Activity no. 11 Club Meeting on page 38 Key concepts to be taught in this lesson: Pupils will be performing in front of the class by reading a scripted club meeting. They apply what they have learned on using proper intonation to clearly convey the meaning of the spoken statements or questions. Key vocabulary to be used in this lesson: Meeting, courteous, expression, club and intonation Beam stages of learning to be used in this lesson: Practice and Application

III. Teaching / Learning Procedures a. Preparatory Activity Drill Let the pupils read the courteous expressions on the manila paper. Review When do we use falling intonation and rising intonation? b. Presentation of the lesson Setting of Standard in reading Present the scripted meeting and let them read 1. What are the courteous expressions use in the meeting? 2. Do we need to use the correct intonation? c. Teaching / Learning Activities Lesson Proper - Ask the pupils to enumerate courteous expressions that they know and often use. Let the pupils share how and when do they use courteous expressions. Lead the pupils to think that they could also use courteous expressions when they conduct classroom meeting or club meetings like English, Science, and Math Club.

For the scaffolding class. Form small groups. Provide a copy of the script found in the Teacher Resource Material for Activity no. 11 on page 38. Give enough

time for the group to practice their assigned roles before their actual performance. Analysis / Discussion a. Who will preside the meeting? b. What expressions needed to call up a meeting? Generalization By reading and performing the scripted club meeting, you may able to identify the courteous expressions used in the different activities like classroom and club meetings. IV. Evaluation: Identify the appropriate courteous expressions used in each sentence. V. Assignment: In a crosswise paper, search for any short poem.

VI. Closure: Children may able to read the scripted club meeting in correct intonation and identify the different courteous expressions used in the club meeting.
