Photo Studio
The reason I have chosen the Photo studio
for the location for the main image of the
front cover is most rock magazine focus on
the artists rather that the setting. The blue
screen of the photo studio with the lighting
will enable me to create a realistic rock
music atmosphere. This means I will be
able to follow the conventions of the rock
genre. As rock magazines like Kerrang! Use
famous artists will grey or dark plain
background to show the reader that the
magazine will focus on the artist rather
that all the aspects of the rock genre.

Stair

I have chosen the stairs as the location for the magazine as

the metal stairs is a common trope for the rock genre. The
metal stairs gives of a cold, harsh and isolated atmosphere
like rock music. This makes a suitable choice for the
magazine as the target audience will know that the
magazine will follow the codes and conventions of the rock
genre.

Grey Wall

The grey wall is a plain and

simple background however
this is useful for the pictures.
The background connotes the
correct atmosphere for the
rock genre with the dull
colouring. Even though, it is
not a concert or a music
studio the grey wall implies
the rock genre but the dull
