Shot-reverse-shot

By Luwang Gitteh
What is shot-reverse-shot
Shot-reverse-shot is a technique where one character is
seen to be looking at another character(off-screen) and
that other character is shown looking back at the previous
character. This is an example of continuity editing and
links in with the 180 degree rule to preserve continuity by
not interfering with the audiences sense of location of the
characters in the shot.
How was it incorporated in our
production?
Shot-reverse-shot is a very common and frequently used
technique in any production. In our production we used
this technique when our protagonist Sydney Johnson was
speaking to the bible salesman (Rick). This helped build
the atmosphere and exemplify the consistent conversation
between two people as they exchange words and Sydney
handed over money. Encompasses
