Mineral Processing Engineering

3rd Year, Class A, C/D
English VI

Student:
Tchemane Azil Domingos

Teacher:
Raisi Dominic
TOPIC:
A study of the process of treatment and recirculation of
the water in decantation basins for the alluvial gold at
CLEAN TECH MINING Lda, Penhalonga Manica
province, in August of 2018.
INTRODUTION
The problem of river pollution by mining companies
is a problem that has affected Mozambique, mainly in
the province of Manica.

To Minimize or reduce this problem, it is necessary

that the mining companies have techniques of
construction of tailings barges, treatment and reuse
of the water coming from the mineral processing.
RESEARCH DISIGN

During the project I will use the qualitative research,

then will do a case study for have more real data.

And also during the project I will use two data

collection tools that are :

observation;
Interview.
POPULATION / SAMPLE
On company the population will be the people of the
Mineral processing area .

The population will be 50 workers in the processing

area.

The sample 30% of the population.

That is 15 workers, who will be the samples, 3

supervisors, 10 operators, 2 technical,

The samples were based on Experience

DATA COLLECTION 1
I will also collect information by interviews (one by one)
workers (about perceptions, opinions, ideas) using:

Sound record ;
Notepad.

Other interviews will be strategic, in the periods that the

workers are free or when are lunch.
DATA COLLECTION 2
The information will be made by direct observations
in the company, the key points of the decantation
basins, such as:

conditions of buildings;
Inclination of basins;
Number of bans;
The angle of slope;
The height of the basin;
Water quality that exists.

Then of observation will be presented by graphic

sketches, files and technical drawings.
DATA PRESENTATION

WORKERS ANSWERS FROM INTERVIEWS

INTERVIEWED
CASE 1: The problems of the water reuse of the settling basins is
related to the lack of qualified personnel in the area
of treatment.

CASE 2:
The lack of machines that make the suction and cleaning
of the basins is the big problem of the basins.

CASE 3:
The reuse of water is not done due to the high costs of
treatment and because the region presents a great
disposition of rivers and lakes.
