• Because of the irregularity of the floor, there are some
zones that cannot be analyzed manually so we used the results
of the computer ETABS program.
• The displacement on y-direction exceeds that’s of x-
direction, although its stiffness is greater because the wind
projection area in y-direction is greater.
• In some walls the horizontal shear force decreases from
positive sign( same direction of the lateral load) near to base, to
negative sign( in a direction counter to the lateral load) at higher
stories because of the difference in the deflection of the of the
individual walls which results from the difference in stiffness.
• By comparing the results of the wind loads at each story of
the ETABS and hand calculation, we found that the difference is
about 3% and this because the ETABS uses the finite element
method which gives more accurate results.
• There is no British code for the seismic loads so we used the
Uniform Building Code” UBC 97”.
• Analyze and design the foundation
• Use plastic theory methods to analyze the
slab such as “yield line method”.
• Use EURO CODE for analyzing &
designing.
