The aim of the project is the design and fabrication of
sensor operated pneumatic braking system. In cars, the, emergency brake is a latching brake usually used to keep the vehicle stationary. It is sometimes also used to prevent a vehicle from rolling when the operator needs both feet to operate the clutch and throttle pedals. Automobile brakes usually consist of a cable directly connected to the brake mechanism on one end and to a lever or foot pedal at the driver's position. The mechanism consists of a pneumatic cylinder in
which is connected to the brake system. By means of
any obstacle comes in front of the vehicle, compressed air operates the braking system. This project has a great advantage of high efficient and easy operation of hand brake system. This brake systems are typically very reliable and less cost. WHAT IS PNEUMATICS?
• Pneumatics is a branch of technology, which deals
with the study and application of use of pressurized gas to affect mechanical motion.
• Pneumatic systems are extensively used in
industry, where factories are commonly plumbed with compressed air or other compressed inert gases. This is because a centrally-located and electrically- powered compressor that powers cylinders and other pneumatic devices through solenoid valves is often able to provide motive power in a cheaper, safer, more flexible, and more reliable way than a large number of electric motors and actuators. BRAKE MECHANISM IN WHEELS Brakes are generally applied to rotating axles or wheels, but may also take other forms such as the surface of a moving fluid (flaps deployed into water or air). Some vehicles use a combination of braking mechanisms, such as drag racing cars with both wheel brakes. BLOCK DIAGRAM
