    Classroom News

    What We Will Learn:


    This week we will being a new unit in our Language Arts curriculum. Our unit’s
    Essential Question is “Why do living things change?” Our phonics skill for the
    week will be s-blends (sk, sl, sm, sn, sp, st, sw).

    We will be advancing our understanding of subtraction and how it is related to


    addition. We will be using math stories with drawings to solve unknowns. In
    Writer’s Workshop, students will be continuing to learn about crafting Non-
    Fiction Chapter books or “teaching books”.

    Homework:
    Tuesday: Home Reading and Lesson 36 p. 149
    & 150
    Wednesday: Home Reading and Lesson 37 p.
    153 & 154
    Thursday: Home Reading and Lesson 38 p.
    157 & 158

    Important Dates:
    Nov. 14 – End of Primary Hour
    Nov. 14 – Family Fun night at Sharky’s
    and Panda Express
    Nov. 19 – 23 – Thanksgiving Break
