MOTTO OF THE PROJECT
GENERATION OF DIFFERENT LEVELS OF VOLTAGES
USING MODULAR MULTILEVEL CONVERTERS,
PROVIDING A PRECISE OUTPUT CURRENT CONTROL
USING CURRENT CONTROL LOOP.
INTRODUCTION
• In order to meet the increasing energy demands , photo-voltaic (PV)
systems came into existence.
• In a grid-connected PV system, control objectives are met by pulse width
modulation (PWM) scheme.Based on two cascaded control loops ,the
outer voltage control loop (to settle the PV array at the MPP) and an inner
current control loop (to establish the duty ratio for the generation of a
sinusoidal output current) which is in phase with the grid voltage.
CASCADED BUCK
CONVERTER
• The figure (a) represents the circuit of cascaded
four level buck converter.
• It is built from the series connection of the HB
converters in the low voltage side.
• The output voltage would be twice the input
voltage per number of series modules connected
in the circuit.
• As can be seen in figure, the inductor is split into
several smaller inductors ,but the total amount of
energy stored in all inductors is same as for the
unique converter with total voltage rating.
CASCADED BOOST
CONVERTER
• The cascaded boost converter can be seen in figure(b).
