I. VISION:
The choice institution of excellent, relevant and
holistic teacher education

II. MISSION:
To provide a distinguished pre-service teacher
education founded on Christian values with the
charism of St. Marcellin Champagnat; to meet the
needs of the Philippines for elementary and
secondary teachers who are equipped with 21st
century skills and are professional formators of life-
long learners with an outcomes-based paradigm.

III. Goals:
Specifically, the college aims to:

1. hone the talents and competencies of the students


for 21st century teaching with skills in information-
media literacy - communication, civic literacy and
global awareness, and others.

2. instil the value for life-long learning, with the ability to


fashion one’s natural qualities with a strong desire to
be the best in the profession, with high regard to the
professional and ethical requisites of the teaching;

3. fulfil the threefold institutional thrust of instruction,


research and community service in higher education;
4. offer an environment with opportunities for the
development of transformational leadership among
pre-service teachers with the zeal and creativity for
continuous advancement of the teaching profession;
and

5. provide high quality instruction founded upon


Christian values, responsive to the need for
education-for-all and relevant to the need for
sustainable development of the region, the country
and the global community;

IV. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
Graduates of the BSED and BEED Programs are
teachers who:

1. demonstrate deep understanding of learning


principles and skills in the teaching processes such as
curriculum development, authentic and traditional
assessment, classroom management, technology
usage and materials development, and facilitation of
self-crafted lesson plans;

2. show mastery and effective application of general


and professional education, especially of a chosen
specialization, acquiring and teaching national
competencies in the present and evolving educational
landscape
IV. PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:

3. conduct educational researches in pursuit of local


and national progress in view of the gaps in culturally-
diverse classrooms, technology divide, peace
education and improvement of learning delivery;

4. exhibit high regard for the teaching profession and


pursuit of professional advancement in the teaching
educational community;

5. engage in extension services through volunteerism,


responding to the needs of a multicultural community,
with a sense of nationalism and social responsibility;

6. actively support and participate the activities of the


church inspired by the charism of St. Marcellin
Champagnat and guided by NDMU core values as a
model educator.
