• We need to protect ourselves from the intense
heat of the sun. Find what we need to help us.

ELABORATION
• People who are exposed to too much heat and
light may suffer from the different skin
ailments.
• The umbrella, hat and sunglasses are things
we can use to protect us from the excessive
heat of the sun.
EVALUATION
Direction: Write TRUE if the statements describe the ways to
protect oneself from intense light and heat and write FALSE if
the statement does not state ways to protect oneself from
intense light and heat.
1. Use sunglasses when you stay under the sun. They can
protect your eyes from the sun’s heat and radiation.
2. Drink lot of water. Drink at least 8 glasses of water or more.
3. Before swimming under the sun, make sure you put some
sunblock lotion on your skin to lessen sunburn
4. Use long-sleeved clothes when working under the sun to
avoid too much exposure to the sun’s rays.
5. We should not look directly at the sun; it can make us
temporarily blind.
