travel itinerary for others, and facilitate them a
complete tour plan and guide. Help them to
finding the best place according to the budget
including accommodation, Air fare, transportation,
meals etc

What is TOUR?
Tour can be defined as any form of
travel from place to place, with
multiple features that can be
packaged and sold as a single unit.
1840’s
 Thomas Cook recognized as the first travel
professional to organize a group of traveler for a
tour.
 The first tour was a rail package in England.
 Afterwards Cook and his son led groups of British
travelers throughout Europe, Africa and the
Middle East and Europeans refer it as “Cook’s
Tour”.
TWO BASIC TYPES OF
TOURS
 CUSTOM – DESIGNED TOURS
- is commonly referred to as an F.I.T or FIT (Foreign
Independent Tour”.
-it is an independent travel plan designed and arranged just
for you.
-this type of tour includes private airport/hotel transfers,
hotels, internal airfare, trains, cruises, performances, events,
activities and private guided tours in any place and in any
style that you want to travel.
 PRE - PACKAGE TOURS
- means a pre-arrangement, prepaid trip that combines
two or more travel components like airfare, airport
transfer, accommodation and other services.

INDEPENDENT TOURS
 is a tour where participants travel
independently without a group or guide.
 Participants in an independent tour can
depart and return on any day and can
even adjust the length of their stay to suit
their individual needs and preferences.
HOSTED TOURS
 offers travelers an opportunity to travel
independently, but also to receive guidance and
assistance from a host at each of tour’s destination.

 Host is a representative of a tour company or ground


operator who assist participant with the planning and
organizations of their activities and other tour
arrangements.
ESCORTED TOURS
 visit many destinations and as a result the
tour participants are frequently on the
move.

Escorted tours often stop in several different


locations throughout the tour
