EFFECT OF
GREENHOUSE GASES
Acknowledgement
I would like to express our special
thanks of gratitude to my teacher
Ms.Bhavana Srivastava as well as our
principal Ms. Kiran mishra who gave us
the golden opportunity to do this
wonderful project on the topic Effect
of Greenhouse Gases, which also helped
us in doing a lot of Research and we
came to know about so many new
things.
What is greenhouse effect?
The greenhouse effect is a process that occurs
when gases in Earth's atmosphere trap the
Sun's heat. This process makes Earth much
warmer than it would be without an
atmosphere. The greenhouse effect is one of
the things that makes Earth a comfortable
place to live.
What are greenhouse gases?
A greenhouse gas is a gas that absorbs
and emits radiant energy within the
thermal infrared range.
Greenhouse gases cause the greenhouse
effect on planets. The primary greenhouse
gases in Earth's atmosphere are
water vapor , carbon dioxide , methane ,
nitrous oxide , and ozone (O3). Without
greenhouse gases, the average
temperature of Earth's surface would be
about −18 °C (0 °F), rather than the present
average of 15 °C (59 °F). The atmospheres
of Venus, Mars and Titan also contain
greenhouse gases.
