5. LEAN ARE EKE WAY SHOW ON 5. LINEAR EQUATION

One way of finding the solution of a system of linear equations

in two variables is by graphing both equations in a Cartesian
plane.
Objectives:
o Determine the solution to the system of linear
equations in two or three variables by
graphing and elimination method
o Solve systems of linear equation by graphing
and elimination method
o Use matrix in solving system linear equation
o Value accumulated knowledge base on new
understanding and apply it on the real word

The New Chunk City
The mayor of new chunk city has banned all
sugary beverages larger than sixty-four
ounces. You've heard from a friend that black-
market is selling sixty-four-ounce sodas in the
alleyway behind the store. Unfortunately, you
don't know where black market is and all you
have are a couple of cryptic equations leading
the way there. Graph the equations and
they'll provide you with the coordinates to
sugar overload. Here's the scrap of paper
your friend gave you.
 Given:

-3x + y = 6 y = 3x + 6
x + 2y = -2 y=

At the Zoo
James, Clara and Ridley want to start a petting zoo
together with pandas, chameleons and macaws, they each
come up with a separate plan for the number of animals
they want to buy; but they aren't exactly sure how much
each individual animal costs. James realizes that if he buys
four pandas, seven chameleons and ten macaws it'll cost
him one hundred and four bucks. Clever finds that if she
buys two pandas, one chameleon, and sell three macaws,
she'll have paid thirteen dollars. Riley figures out that if
she buys five chameleons and one macaw shall have paid
thirty-three bucks. What is the price of each animal?
Recap
Write the equations
Using Matrix
Step 1: Transform the augmented matrix to the reduced row echelon form

Equations:

4p + 7c + 10m = 104
2p + c – 3m = 13
5c + m = 33
