Geometry Involving Circle Figures In and Around Circles
BOOK 1
In this book, it discuss about 23 definitions, 5 postulates, and
48 proposition that related to the plane geometry that
involve straight line. For example, the definition of

1 . A point is that of which there is no part.

2. A straight-line is (any) one which lies evenly with points

on itself

3. A plane surface is (any) one which lies evenly with the

straight-lines on itself.
BOOK 1
In this book it also discuss about 5 postulates that related to the planes
geometry involving the straight lines.

1. Let it have been postulated† to draw a straight-line from any point to

any point.
2. And to produce a finite straight-line continuously in a straight-line.
3. And to draw a circle with any centre and radius.
4. And that all right-angles are equal to one another.
5. And that if a straight-line falling across two (other). the two (other)
straight-lines, being produced to infinity, meet on that side (of the
original straight-line) that the (sum of the internal angles) is less
than two right-angles (and do not meet on the other side).
To construct an equilateral triangle on a given finite straight-
line:

PROPOSITION

Let AB be the given finite straight-line. So it is required to construct an

1
equilateral triangle on the straight-line AB.
Let the circle BCD with centre A and radius AB have been drawn and
again let the circle ACE with centre B and radius BA have been drawn
And et the straight-lines CA and CB have been joined from the point
C, where the circles cut one another,† to the points A and B
For two given unequal straight-lines, to cut off from the
greater a straight-line equal to the lesser

PROPOSITION

3
Let AB and C be the two given unequal straight-lines of which let
the greater be AB. So it is required to cut off a straight-line equal
to the lesser C from the greater AB.
BOOK 2
In this book, it discuss about 2 definitions and 14 proposition
that related to the Geometric Algebra. For example, the
definition of

1. Any rectangular parallelogram is said to be contained by

the two straight-lines containing the right angle
2. And in any parallelogrammic figure, let any one
whatsoever of the parallelograms about its diagonal
(taken) with its two complements, be called a gnomon.
If there are two straight-lines, and one of them is cut into any
number of pieces whatsoever, then the rectangle contained by
the two straight-lines is equal to the (sum of the) rectangles
contained by the uncut (straight-line), and every one of the
PROPOSITION pieces (of the cut straight-line).

1
If a straight-line is cut at random then the square on the whole
(straight-line) is equal to the (sum of the) squares on the
pieces (of the straight-line), and twice the rectangle contained
PROPOSITION by the pieces.
