Competency Standard : Identify Plant and Growth’s

Class/Semester : X/1
Base Competency 1

explain about Plant Production System

1. PLANT PRODUCTION SYSTEM
Plant Natural System

Plant is a complex natural

system which have components
such as root, stem and leaves
They conect
and affect each
other in a
growth process
and maturity
until produce a
product
THE PRODUCTION SYSTEM OF PLANT

INPUT  Seed, water,

soil,klimate/weather,di
sturbing organisme
and fertilizer

PROCESS  Photosynthesis and

Respiration

 Product, Crop, Harvest

OUTPUT and post harvesting
a. THE INPUT SUB SYSTEM

 The Seed
The seed can be found as vegetative or generative
seed. A good quality of seed will give a good
contribution in the plant process
 The Soil
Fertile soil was depand of phisical characteristic
(Texture
and color) and also Chemical characterystic (pH)
 Climate / weather
Every plant has difference growth condition. The climate
unsures
as growth condition such as :
a. Solar radiation
b. Humidity
c. Rain fall
d. The
e. Wind
The climate factors or climate controled by :
Climate system picture
Table . Plant and Growth Conditions
Crops Growth Conditions
The Height 0 -650 meters of coast line above
Precipitation1500 – 2000 mm/year
Paddy Temperature of 23 – 26,5 0 C
Soil pH 4,0 – 7,0
Fertile soil18-22 cm depth
The height 0 -900 meters of coast line above
precipitation 100 – 200 mm/mounth
Soybean Temperature of 25 – 27,5 o C
Aluvial, regosol, grumosol, latosol andosol soil
Minimum Photoperiod of 10 hours/day
The heigth1.200 -1.500 of coast line above
High humidity 80 – 90%
Carrot Temperature of 22 – 24 o C

Soil pH 5,5 – 6,5 fertile, rich of humus

 Fertilizer

Fertilizer can add available nutrient and influent of

phisic and chemical soil characteristic

Manure Sowing fertilizer Leaves fertilizer

 INJURIOUS ORGANISM TO CROP
The injurious organism to crop which invade , such
as :
Injourus insect, desease and wild weed

Picture of harmful organism

insect desease weed

B. SUB SISTEM PROCESS

I. PHOTOSYNTHESIS / ANABOLISM
a. Light Reaction/phosforilation
Photosynthesis is a reaction involving the light, water
and CO2

b. Dark reaction
It don’t need light but need CO2
The leave section figure
Determined factors of photosynthesis velocity
1. Light intencity
2. Carbohidrate concentration
3. Temperature
4. Water content
5. Photosyntates content
6. Stage of growth
Photosynthesis sceme picture
Photosyntate using

a) Caring
b) Recovering
c) Build another compound
d) Energy source
e) Growth and maturity
f) Cadangan makanan (fruits, seed, stem and umbi)
II. Respiration
Intake O2 process to break organic
compounds out come CO2, H2O and Energy

Carbon cycle scheme

Respiration/ catabolism is apart of carbon cycle

Respiration scheme
Respiration could be
influented by :
1) Temperature
2) Oxygen and carbondioxyde content
3) Light
4) Water content changes
5) The effect of Mechanical and chemical matter
6) Age and kind of tissue
7) Nutrient content in the soil
C. OUTPUT SUB SYSTEM

From the both subsystem will produce some

product wich is used by itself or another
organism.

From the reality above, Plant also called as

Primary Produser
Order of the food chain
