IDENTIFICATION PLANT AND

THE GROWTH’S
Sub Judul
Base Competency 4
describe the climate and weather factors as crucial
factor for the Plant growth
CLIMATE AND WEATHER AS IMPOTANT
FACTORS TO PLANTS
a. The meaning of climate and Weather

 Weather : a condition or behaviour of atmosphere in a time

which has different characteristic in different
time (Kartasaputra, 1990)

Climate : Weather average in a year that observed in

along time (about 30 years) and covered wide
area (Ragariana, )
b. Unsures and Factors of Climate

Climate Unsures
a. Sun radiation
b. Temperature
c. Humidity
d. Cloud
e. Rainfall
f. Evaporation
g. Air pressure
h. Wind
Climate Factors
c. Atmosphere

The atmosphere is a thick

blanket of gases that covers
the whole earth to protect
the earth's warming and
cooling over. (Kartasapoetra,
1990)
Parts of atmosphere

 Troposphere
events occur such as weather and climate there are
approximately 80% of the entire mass of gas in the
atmosphere, more higher place, the temperature
declined

 Stratosphere
the inversion temperature, It’s mean that air temperature
is increased in line with the increase of high altitude.
• Mesosphere
avoid the earth from dropping meteor or other outer
space objects

• Ionsphere
Place where Ionization of particles occurred that can give
effect to reflection radio waves, both long and short waves.

•Exosphere
A Place of meteor breaking and a place for randomize
movement of atoms, and also layer of the heat
c. Sun Radiation

The Sun is the most Climate and weather contoller ,

because Sun energy is the source of changing and
mocing in the atmosphere
According to the influence of radiaton length to the blooming,
there are 3 plant groups :
1. Long day plant
Flower will apear if the plant got radiation more
than
14 hours

2. Short day plant

Flower will appear if the plant got radiation
less than 12 hours
3. Neutral day plant
Apearance of flower doesn’t influennt by
radiation length
e. Temperature

 Temperature associated with climate be distinguished:

1. maximum temperature
Highest temperature in which plants are still
       grow
2. Minimum temperature
The lowest temperaturein which the plant still
survive
3. Optimum temperature
The Best temperature for plant growth
f. Taking place of the Weather and Climate in
Agriculture

The influence of weather and climate are very specific

in relation with the requirements of each plant to grow

Climate consists of biotic and abiotic components which

have dynamic characteristic depend of the both
interaction
Weather condition figure
Abiotic Factors

a) Temperature : affect to ecosystem

b) Sun : Affecting global ecosystems, manage the

process of photosynthesis and
temperature

c). Water : Source of life for organisms

d). Altitude : to distinguish the type of organisms that live
in that place
e). Wind : affect moisture and the distribution of seeds
of plants
f). Latitude : the discrepancies in the distribution of
organisms in the world
