In a breeding center, there are 6 pairs of panda cubs. How do you
find the total number of of pandas?

FACTORS PRODUCT

6 x 2 = 12

Example 1:
In a breeding center, there are 6 pairs of panda cubs. How do you find
the total number of of pandas?

Note that we can simply add 2 six times, or we can perform


multiplication.

2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 12
6 x 2 = 12

Hence, there are 12 panda cubs in breeding center.
