Activity Conducted: 1 completed action research ( participated and

contributed in chapters 1, 2 and 3)

Ms. Patricia Pineda and I helped the Guidance and Counseling Department

with their ongoing research regarding students’ well-being. In the process, we

were tasked to provide an introduction for the content of the study. We were

also tasked to go over the related literature submitted by the batch of

practicumers before us. We needed to sort the studies that they found and

made sure to only include updated articles and research. We were also tasked

to add more related studies. In addition to these, we also made descriptive

discussions about the data that they were able to gather from the survey that

they did. We were asked to go over each table and make a descriptive

discussion for each.

Activity conducted: 50 routine interviews

This was the first task given to us. Our supervisors asked about our free time

then they scheduled students for us to interview. For each student, we were

given the well-being form that they answered and this is where we will base our

questions. The form has 6 areas. We were tasked to inquire about their life at

home, in school, the things that they do during their free time, drugs and

alcohol, drugs and alcohol and suicidal tendencies. We were briefed to give

psychological first aid to those who needed it and endorse students who will

need regular counseling sessions. After the interview, we need to submit our

write ups about the students that we interviewed that day.

Activity Conducted: 2 sessions of Group Guidance Activity

Last May 15, we conducted 2 sessions of group guidance activity. Our program

was entitled “What’s in your bubble? Learning how to manage your e-motions”.

We were in-charge of the main event for this program. I was tasked to be the

main resource speaker. I prepared a presentation entitled “How to control your

emotions so your emotions don’t control you”. Here, I discussed a step by step

process on how the students can properly and effectively manage their

emotions. Before the main presentation, we also had a short question and

answer where we discussed the difference between emotions and feelings. The

students from different CEU campuses were very active and participative. After

the discussion, we also broke down students into breakout sessions where we

asked processing questions about the things that they learned during the talk

and the tips that they find effective in managing their emotions.
