What Is
Sentence?
Sentence should minimally contain 1 subject and 1 predicate
then it conveys meaning.

Example:
• You sleep (sentence)
• Are going to sleep (it is not a sentence, it is a phrase)
• We (word)
Different active and passive

Active Passive

Object + be + V3 + by
Subject + verb + object
subject (optional)
Ex : I eat a plate of fried
Ex : A plate of fried rice is

Remember!
1. The object of the active sentence becomes the
subject of passive sentence.
2. The finite form of verb is change (to be + v3).
3. The subject of the active sentence becomes the
object of passive sentence.
