• Procedure text is text that shows how to make
something or how to do something
sequentially or step by step.
• The purpose of Procedure Text is to provide
instructions on how to do something through
coherent actions or steps.
• Generic Structure Procedure text consists of 3
parts Generic structure, namely:

• 1. Aim/Goal This aim is the purpose of


Procedure text. Usually in the form of a title or
description of what will be made or done.
• 2. Materials This section contains a list of
materials and tools to complete the procedure
text. However, not all procedure text requires
material.
• 3. Steps. The steps section contains a series of
steps that must be performed sequentially.
These steps must be carried out so that the
objectives stated in the Aim/Goal section can
be achieved.
Characteristics of Procedure text
• Using the command sentence pattern (Imperative). For
example "Cut the banana into pieces" , "Don't mix the coconut
milk with water" , "Heat the water for 5 minutes", and others
• Using action verbs, for example crack, chop, cut, heat, mix, and
so on.
• Using sequence adverbs such as first, second, next, then,
finally, while
• Using adverbials (adverbs) to state the details of time and
place, for example for "Cook the mixture for one hour" , "Boil
the water for 15 minutes", "Crack the egg into the bowl" , and
so on.
• Using the simple present tense.
HOW TO MAKE FRIED RICE
• Ingredients:
• 2 cloves of garlic
• 2 onions (two shallots)
• An egg
• 1 table spoon of vegetable oil
• A plate of rice
• Salt
• Steps:
• First, chop garlic and onions into the small pieces
• Second, heat vegetable oil on a frying pan. (Secondly,
heat the cooking oil in a frying pan)
• Third, put the chopped garlic and onion into the hot
vegetable oil. Fry them a while. (Third, put the pieces
of onion and garlic into the hot oil)
• Fourth, add an egg into the pan and stir them. (Fourth,
put the eggs into the pan and stir stir)
• Fifth, put one plate of rice. Fry and mix them around 3
minutes. (Fifth, add a plate of rice. Fry and stir for
about 3 minutes)
• Sixth, add two pins of salt. Continue frying
until the rice is mixed perfectly. (Sixth, add 2
pinches of salt. Continue to stir until evenly
distributed)
• Finally, put the fried rice on a plate. Fried rice
is ready to serve. (Finally, put the rice on a
