• Sălaj Country is situated in nordwestern of

Romania.
• Sălaj has an area of 3864 km
• Sălaj has a lot of place to visit, but the most
important place to visit are :
1. Roman Castle Porolissum at Moigrad
2. The Garden of Dragons at Gâlgău-Almașului
3. The Botanical Garden at Jibou
4. The Mansion of Wesselenyi at Hodod
5. Wooden Church „ Pogorârea Duhului Sfant” at
Fildu de Sus.
 ROMAN CASTLE AT POROLISSUM

• The Roman Castle at Porolissum is a old

monument of an ancient Roman Town.
• The Roman Castle is situated in Moigrad
village.
• The Roman Castle was built of wood, but later
it was expanded and rebuilt from stone.
• There are two festivals for Roman Castle :
Porolissum Music Fast and Porolisum Fast,
where is organised parade of historical
costums and fighting demonstration.
 THE GARDEN OF DRAGONS

• The Garden of Dragons is located in Gâlgău-

Almașului.
• The Garden of Dragons is a natural aria protected
by law.
• The Garden of Dragons is the most beautiful
natural rezervation from Transylvania.
• The Garden of Dragons it’s shows an ensemble
of rocks such as :
1. The Dragons
2. Cleopatra‘s needle
3. The Little Finger
4. Eva
 THE BOTANICAL GARDEN

• The Botanical Garden is located in Jibou.

• The Botanical Garden is the most important
places for Sălaj’s visitors .
• The Botanical Garden was established in 1968 by
Vasile Fati.
• This garden has a multitude of flowers and exotic
fish also it has a zoo with deer and wild boar.
 THE MASION OF WESSELENYI

• The Masion of Wesselenyi is located in village

Hodod.
• This masion was build in fiftheen century and in
eighteen century the masion would be demolished
and rebuilt at the beginning at the nineteen century.
• The Masion of Wesselenyi it is one of the first
baroque masions in Transylvania.
• The masion is of great importance because it
contains the archives of the village.
WOODEN CHURCH „POGORÂREA SFÂNTULUI
DUH”

• Wooden Church „ Pogorârea Sfântului Duh” is

located in Fildu de Sus.
• This wooden church is considered to be the most
beautiful wooden church in Sălaj.
• The wooden church is a old church greek-catholic.
• The church was build in 1727 and was painting in
1729.
• The church is on the new list a historical monuments.
