GOAL
• My task is to prepare a “smoked tuna spread canapé” and be able to
present my grasp to my teacher and classmates.

• Possible problems - The possible problems that I might encounter when it


comes to making tuna spread canapés are; unable to mix the ingredients
well, lack of ingredients, lack of time, too much or too less of ingredients.

• Solution - To avoid such problems, I should know the right amount of


ingredients as well as the right procedure of mixing it to balance the taste.

ROLE
• My role in preparing a Canapé are; cleaning
the surface where I will place my ingredients,
wash the utensils before using them, and be
able to wash my ingredients well. Wear proper
attire when in the kitchen. Make sure that when
mixing the ingredients I mix them well and
won’t be able to add too much or too less of the
ingredients.

In preparing of “Tuna Spread Canapé” I will be needing
the following;

* TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT * - measuring cups,


measuring glass, measuring spoons, chopping board,
paring knife, spatula, bowl, utensils, large plate

• * INGREDIENTS SITUATION
• 3 ounces cream cheese, softened • ½ teaspoon liquid smoke

• ¼ cup finely chopped red onion • 1 (5 ounce) can chunk white tuna, drained

• 2 tablespoons snipped fresh chives • 2 tablespoons diced pimiento, drained

• 2 teaspoons olive oil • 24 almond crackers

• 1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning • ½ English cucumber (cut into 24 slices)

• ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

PROCEDURE
Step 1
- Add 3 ounces softened cream cheese, onion, 1 tablespoon chives, 2 teaspoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning,
1/2 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke into the bowl

Step 2
- Flake tuna with a fork. Add the tuna and pimiento to the cream cheese mixture; stir until well mixed.

Step 3
- Cover and chill atleast 1 hour or up to 24 hours.

PROCEDURE
Step 4
- To assemble the canapés, spread 1/2 teaspoon of the tuna mixture on each cracker.

Step 5
- Top each cracker with a cucumber slice and another 1 1/2 teaspoons of the tuna mixture.

Step 6
- Lastly, sprinkle each cracker with the remaining chives

The product of this task is filled with nutrition like;

• Protein (7.4g) and Carbohydrates (8.4g)

• Vitamin C (5.5 mg) and Potassium (97.2 mg)

• Protein and Carbohydrates are both vital for good health.

• Carbohydrates are the main source of our body’s energy. Helps you feel full,
and it also helps us keep our blood cholesterol levels in check.

• Protein helps us repair PERFORMANCE
cells and make new ones. It is also
important for growth and development.

• Vitamin C helps us to protect cells and keeping them healthy.

• Potassium helps regulate fluid balance, muscle contractions


and nerve signals
