• It is owned by the british-dutch company “Unilever” and has about 52% majority
stake in Hindustan unilever limited.
• Its products include foods, beverages, cleaning agents, personal care products water
purifiers and other fast-moving consumer goods.
• It is headquartered in Mumbai.
• Hindustan unilever limited has over 35 brands spanning 20 distinct categories.

HISTORY
• 1931 : first indian subsidiary was Hindustan vanspati manufacturing company.
• 1933: Lever brothers india limited was founded.
• 1935: united traders limited was founded .
• Later in 1956, the merger of these three companies formed the Hindustan lever
limited.
• 2007: The company was renamed as hindustan unilever limited.
