Water Pollution Control Systems - The Officer must preferably be a Registered: Chemical, Mechanical, Mining or Sanitary Engineer; or
Any registered engineer
with master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field

Duties and Responsibilities of an Accredited Pollution Control Officer Attend to the requirements of the establishment Monitor activities pertaining to the installations/construction of pollution source and control facilities Supervise the operation/maintenance of pollution control facilities Report breakdown of any pollution control facility

Promptly submit validated/certified reports to DENR As a Liaison Officer with the DENR Attend meetings for PCO Facilitate compliance Recommend installation/operation of additional equipment for the pollution abatement facilities Handle other matters of environmental concern

Categories of Pollution Control Officers Pollution Control Officer I Shall only in-charge of the operation of the pollution control systems of a single less pollutive establishment
Should have attended at least one (1)
training/seminar/workshop on pollution control sanctioned by the DENR within the past three (3) years

Pollution Control Officer II Shall only in-charge of the operation of the pollution control systems of a single relatively more pollutive establishment Should have attended at least five (5) training/seminar/workshop on pollution control sanctioned by the DENR within the past eight (8) years
Pollution Control Officer III
Shall be responsible for the performance of the pollution control systems i.e. combination of treatment systems

Shall be registered chemist, chemical, mechanical, mining, sanitary engineer or any registered engineer with at least eighteen (18) units in graduate course in environmental engineering or any related fields
Should have attended at least ten (10)
training/seminar/workshop on pollution control sanctioned by the DENR within the past twelve (12) years

Revocation and Suspension of Accreditation The following shall be considered violations of PCOs: Submission of false documents and/or reports Failure to perform the duties and responsibilities Verifiable negligence Suspension of PCO more than once Penalties First Violation: STRICT WARNING Second Violation: REVOCATION OF ACCREDITATION
