1.define what is heat;


2.identify the types of heat transfer;
and
3.demonstrate how heat can be
transferred
GROUP ACTIVITIES
Group
1
1. Put a cup of cold water (half filled) under the sun.
2.Get the temperature of the water and write it down on your
notes.
3.After 2 minutes, measure again the temperature of the water
and take down notes.
4. Do the same after 4 minutes and 6 minutes. Take down notes
of
your observation.
Group
2
1. Put the coin in the spoon.
2. Light up the candle using a match/ lighter.
3.Hold the spoon with a coin on top of the candle and observe
until the coin is heated.
4. Take down notes of your observation.
Group
3
1.Put a cup of hot and cold water (half filled) and place it on
top of the table.
2.Measure the temperature of the water inside the cups and take
down notes.
3. After 2 minutes, measure again the temperature of the water
inside the cups and take down notes.
4.Do the same after 4 minutes and 6 minutes. Take down notes of
your observation.
RADIATIO

Radiation is the transfer of heat
energy through space by
electromagnetic radiation. Most of the
electromagnetic radiation that comes
to the earth from the sun is
invisible.
CONDUCTION is the transfer of heat
through matter (i.e.,
solids, liquids, or gases)
without bulk motion of
the matter. In another
word, conduction is the
transfer of energy from
the more energetic to
less energetic particles
of a substance due to
interaction between the
particles
CONVECTION

-process by which heat is


transferred by movement
of a heated fluid such
as air or water.
Give at least 3 examples of each type of heat
transfer that you can see at home. Write it in
