A. SENTENCE COMPONENTS
1. DEFENITION

 Part of sentence is an arrangement of


words that certain patters that form a
meaning that can be understood well

 Hocket (1985) states that a sentence


is a constitutive or onconstituent
form; a grammatical form that is not
included in the construction.

functions of words in sentences are as:

B. ACTIVE SENTENCE
1. Definition Active Sentence
 Active sentence is a collection and sentence
structure that shows the actions and actions of
the subject. In Indonesia lessons. These actions
and actions are know as predicates

 Active sentence are sentence where the


subject does the work in the verbal
predicate (depdiknas, 2008:332). another
opinion was also expressed by cook (in
tarigan, 2009:25) that the active sentence
is a sentence whose subject acts as an
actor or actor.
2. Characteristics Of Active Sentence

 Often uses affixes, such as “ber”, “me”, and others


 Shows that the subject is performing certain actions
and actions
 Sentence structure can be complete or incomplete.

Example Of An Active Sentence :

• Rusmi eats fried rice

C. PASSIVE SENTENCE
1. Definition Passive Sentence
 Passive sentence are sentence with the subject
getting treatment or action. In the passive voice,
the one who performs the action or activity is the
object. So, the subject is part of the purpose of
an action.
 Passive sentence is a sentence that arises from the
process of passive voice active. Sugono (1994:86)
states that passive sentences are sentences in
which the subject is the target of the action stated
as the predicate. This sentence is a modification
of the passive voice.
2. Characteristics Of Passive Voice

 When we change the sentence from active to passive


voice, the object becomes the subject
 We can use sentences with only transtive verbs in the
passive voice.
 This from may or not tell clearly about the actor who
has done it.
 We should add “by” in a sentence to make clear the
action, who has done it.
Example of Passive Sentence
 Fandi was drive to the theatre by Maria
 Nowadays, black kites are protected by now.
 The olives are stoned and crushed in this room
by my son.
