SUPERLATIVE SENTENCES
We use SUPERLATIVE adjectives to describe an object which is at the upper or lower
limit of a quality (the tallest, the smallest, the fastest, the highest). They are used in sentences
where a subject is compared to a group of objects.

 There are only two rules in SUPERLATIVE SENTENCES:

• It depends on the quantity of syllables.

• Never forget to write: “THE” BEFORE the superlative form.
• When the adjective has 1 syllable, we only add “-EST” at the adjective.

• When the adjective has 2, 3, 4 or more we add “MOST”.

• When the adjective ends in “-Y” we change it into “-IEST”

IV.- EXERCISES:

• Look at the adjectives, what is the SUPERLATIVE FORM of:

ADJECTIVE SUPERLATIVE
CHEAP
CLEVER
SHINY
BRAVE
STRANGE
HEALTHY
FAMOUS
WONDERFUL
GOOD

V.- CONCLUSION:

• Who is the oldest in your family?
