1. 1907 Simple Design;

The Kodak Logo was first created and adopted by the company in 1907. At
that time, it was a lettermark that had the company Eastman Kodak Company’s
initials EKC. The letters were enclosed in a circle, which was a trendy design
in those days. The circle symbolized authority and completeness. Government
stamps used to be in circular shape in those times to express the authority. So,
the company too wanted to express its dominance in the market by using the
circular design.

2. 1935 Landscape Shape With Colors;

In 1935, the logo design underwent first major designing changes. The
colors were introduced for the first time. Yellow was used for the
background, while the company’s name Kodak was in red. Both the
colors express the feelings of warmth, happiness, love, and passion.
An intention behind including these colors was to connect the business
of photography with the people. Since people take photos usually on a
happy occasion, the colors red and yellow were used to express these
emotions.

3. 1960 Triangular Shape;
he next major change in the Kodak logo was in 1960,
when the old rectangular shape was discarded. In its
place, a triangular shape was brought in to give the
symbol a fresh look. A purpose behind the new shape
was to give a new and unique look to the emblem.

5. 1987 Fonts Changed;
The earlier Kodak logo continued its run up to the 80s. But,
during the early years of the new decade, the company tweaked
the design a bit. This gave the design a simple appearance. In
addition to the font change, the box element also was retouched.
It was given a modern look and feel

6. 2006 Modern Elegant Look;

In 2006, the company made another significant change in its logo.

The box element was removed. The square and rectangular
shapes also were eliminate. Instead, the logo featured only the
company name. An intention behind the change was at the turn of
the century, graphic designers were laying emphasis on
minimalistic design principles. They wanted to say a lot about
their business with the help of a few elements

7. 2016 Back To The Old Trusted Design;

In 2016, the company was trying to bring back its old

identity. So, it brought back the old Kodak logo that had • In a few days, you can

BURGER KING

Burger King is the name of an American

company that owns a chain of fast-food
restaurants. It was founded in Jacksonville,
Florida, in 1953. After 1954, Insta-Burger
King ran into financial difficulties. Two local
businesses that used the brand in a franchise (a
private or legal entity that uses the trademark
with the franchisor’s consent), David
Edgerton and James McLamore, acquired the
company and renamed it, Burger King. Soon it
was bought by two local franchisees – but
then they resold the company. Now the
Brazilian corporation 3G Capital owns a
controlling stake, and the institution itself is
located in Miami, Florida.

EVEVALUATION OF LOGO IN BURGER KING

1. 1953 – 1954
The company, known as insta burger king for the first year of its existence, got its
first logo in 1953.The debut logo looked like a rising or setting sun. It was a half-
disk with short triangular beams. The color scheme is gray-black.

2. 1954 – 1957
In the year 1954, since the company was purchased by james mclamore and David
R. Edgerton, the logo underwent an improvisation. The brand name was shortened
by removing an extra word, the rising sun icon was removed, the font style was
changed to custom sans serif typeface. The logo started looking minimalistic,
practical and simple.

3. 1957 – 1969
Coming to 1957, the following owners redesigned the logo to emphasize the phrase
“burger king”. They used an illustration of a king sitting on an actual burger with
glass and straw. The logo also said home of the whopper, which was more of an
advertising badge than being a trademark. The company shifted from a black and
white logo to a bright yellow, red and white logo
4. 1969 – 1994
In 1969, the company removed most part of the earlier
logo and made it more simplistic. The logo shows a
bun cut in half and the brand name is placed between
the two bun pieces. If you notice, the word ‘King’ has
been stretched and enlarged to balance between long
and short words.

5. 1994 – 1999
In April 1994, the logo was further improvised and
the text was changed to make it less cartoonish and
more professional. The bun was made to look fluffier
and brighter to denote the freshness of the products.

6. 1999 – 2021
1999 new year and new logoon the new century eve, the brand thought
it of as a perfect opportunity to bring some change to the logo. The new
logo was developed by studio sterling brands and is the longest-running
logo for the brand to date. Although it somewhat resembles the 1969
and 1994 logo version, the only variation that could be noticed was the
blue c-shaped crescent which actually complements the logo. It has a
more modern outlook while retaining the original values of the
company.

7.2021 – TODAY
Now comes the year 2021, where almost all of us witnessed this news
of burger king changing its logo for the first time in 20 years. The new
logo is a homage to the brand’s heritage with a refined design that is
confident, simple and fun. In fact, along with the logo, the brand’s food
packaging, and uniforms were also changed by the creative agency. The
company shifted to using warmer colours that bring vibrant, fresh
ingredients to life in packaging, uniform and experiences.
