TESTS
According to Aquino and Alviar, tests are
not only tools and techniques used by
the teacher or counselor to collect
information about an individual but
also a means to make an
individual understand himself
better.
How are tests classified?
• Tests for general Intellectual Level
• Tests for Special Population
• Tests of Separate Abilities
• Personality Tests
• Projective Test
ANECDOTAL RECORD
• This is a brief informal
report by the teacher of
an observation of a critical
incident.
• observations must be
objective, factual, concise
and accurate, describing
one incident
AUTOBIOGRAPHY

• The autobiography is a tool


used to gain information
about a person by having
him write his life story.

BEHAVIOR RATING
SCALE
A behavior rating scale is a
form of a number of
behavior traits, with
continuum on which the
teacher indicates the
relative strength of an
individual student on each
trait.
SOCIOGRAM
This is a graphic representation of
the responses made to a
questionnaire administered to
members of a group with respect to
their choice of roles to be played by
particular members of the group.
Peer ratings can be used to provide
information about the functioning
of individuals within the group
setting.

INTERVIEW
• An interview is a direct
conversation designed to
gather information about
an individual.
• A means of instructing,
influencing or motivating
the interviewee (Bingham
and Moore)

• an alertness to indications of mood and attitudes

CONCLUSIONS
In this chapter the different instruments, tools, techniques
and methods used in collecting information about the clients
in school, industries, clinics, and government agencies are
discussed.

The purpose is to help parents, teachers, counselors,


administrators, personnel, and significant others maintain the
facilities to reinforce a healthy growth and development of
the individual. Nine forms of measurement and evaluation
techniques were identified and described.
