    USE OF P P E { PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT } A SAFETY CULTURE
    INTRODUCTION
    • P P E is a set of equipments that protect workers against risks at work
    • It includes the protection from head to toe leg head safety . hearing safety . eye
    protection .respiratory safety . clothing protection for the body and foot safety
    • P P E helps to reduce accidents and makes a safer and secure environment to work
    • Rail P P E and work wear is mandatory while workers are in the vicinity of railway
    operating area and it is important that highest level of visibility and safety are
    maintained.
    • Workers are protected from potential injury and illness by wearing P P E from a no of
    hazards like physical . chemical . electrical . radiological . biological . and mechanical
    hazards
    • It should be selected based primarily on the basis of hazards identified during
    assessment.
    • The P P E should be as per standard of OSHA ( occupational safety and health hazard
