Read the paragraph then answer the questions that
follow.
Sandra wakes up at 5:00 every morning. She prays
her morning prayer and fixes her bed. Then Sandra
bathes herself. Next, she wears her uniforms and eats
her breakfast. After eating, she brushes her teeth. She
gets ready for the school bus to fetch her. It comes at
exactly every 6:00 in the morning. Twenty minutes of
travelling, Sandra arrives in school.

verbs in describing your experiences in the past.
In this lesson, you are expected to use the past form of regular verbs.

Regular Verbs in the Past?
These are the verbs that end with: d, ed and ied based on some rules.
Examples: bake -baked (added with d)
plant - planted (added with ed)
try - tried (changed the y to i and added ed)
• The past form of the regular verbs is formed in the following ways.
• Add ed to the verb.
Examples: mix – mixed play-played open -opened
• Add d to verbs that end with e.
Examples: expire- expired bake-baked wipe -wiped
• For one-syllable verbs with short vowel sounds, double the last
consonant and add ed.
Examples: jog – jogged rub-rubbed mop-mopped
• Verbs ending in y, change the y to i and add ed.
Examples: study- studied cry-cried fry-fried
