Introduction to Electronics…
• We are living in age of information Technology
• Electronics is foundation of Information/Computer Technology .
• The great developments in information technology is truly due to great successes
in electronics field.
• In our daily life we use multiple electronics gadgets like…

• Cell Phone
• Digital Wrist watch
• Calculator
• Computer
• Camera
• Etc….
Electronics has made deep impact on several areas like…

• Medical/Health care

• Airlines

• Automobiles

• Information Technology

• Communication Technology

• Home appliances

• So On…
What is electronics?
The branch of physics and technology concerned with the design of circuits
using transistors and microchips, and with the behaviour and movement of
electrons in a semiconductor, conductor, vacuum or gas.

Electronics is the branch of science that deals with the study of flow and
control of electrons (electricity) and the study of their behaviour and effects
in vacuums, gases, and semiconductors, and with devices using such
electrons.

This control of electrons is accomplished by devices that resist, carry, select,

switch, store, manipulate, and exploit the electron.
Diffrence Between Electric & Electronics....?

• Electrical and electronic engineering may sound similar, but they are very different.

• Both involve moving electricity around a circuit to power useful products and
machines, but that is where the similarity ends!
• The main difference between electrical and electronic circuits is that electrical
circuits have no decision making (processing) capability, whilst electronic
circuits do.
• An electric circuit simply powers machines with electricity.
• However, an electronic circuit can interpret a signal or an instruction, and perform
a task to suit the circumstance.
• For example, a microwave oven often bleeps when it has finished cooking, to
inform the user that his or her meal is ready.
