Wh- questions
• We ask about object (předmět) or adverbial (příslovečné určení)
Where do you live? What time does the match start? When did you arrive?
• We start the question with phrases like Do you know…/Could you tell me…/Do you think…/Have you
any idea…
• The word order is the same as in the statement (Slovosled jako v oznamovací větě, bez pomocného
slovesa do/does/did)
2. Tvoříme Yes/no question: musíme ještě po úvodní frázi doplnit slovo if/whether (jestli/zda)
Does the post office close at 5? -> Do you have an idea if the post office closes at 5?
Are you married? -> Can you tell me if you are married?
Subject questions (otázky na podmět)

• Označení „na konci“ je ale relativní, někdy ještě po předložce může následovat například
příslovečné určení místa nebo času

What do you often talk about at work?
• Všechny náležitosti gramatických časů jsou ponechány, tedy nemizí žádná pomocná slovesa
