Batteries installation guidelines

• Use torque range to installed batteries nuts and bolts.

• Using crimping tools for DC cables lugs.
• Keep Safe distance between batteries 1CM minimum to safe against thermal run away
• Check voltage after installation batteries difference between batteries to be maximum 0.15V/ 12V Block
• Matching output voltage and current of power cabinet for each string and check its operation during
charge/Discharge .
• Revise parameter setting before installing new batteries according to installation manual.
• Batteries ambient temperature to be 25°C degree
• When the system has a high temperature disconnect the batteries at 60°C temperature in order to avoid
thermal damage.
• Enable & activate Temperature compensation at +25°C.
• Follow installation manual during installation new batteries
Torque Ranges Values for each batteries
Please follow the product label applied directly on the battery for recommended torque values.
Batteries type Torque
Value
NSB Blue+ 210Ah 8Nm
NSB Blue+ 100Ah 8Nm
Power Safe 190Ah 9Nm
Power Safe 100Ah 5Nm Torque range for battery nuts and bolts Hydraulic Battery DC Cable Lug Terminal
Batteries Parameters settings
• The optimum level for float charging the Blue+ is 2.27VPC ±0.02VPC at +25°C (Float Voltage 54.48V)
• Boost voltage (equalize) recommends 2.35 VPC as boost voltage at +25°C (Boost or Equalize Voltage 56.4V)
• Boost or Equalize voltage shall be limited to the boost voltage level and shall be from 6 to 12 hours.
• The optimum level temperature +25°C (+77°F). If the Battery temperature increases above this level, a
thermal compensation of -4 mV/cell/°C is recommended for safe operation ,and if the temperature decreases
below 25°C, the voltage should be increased by 4 mV/cell/°C.(compensation coefficient 96mV/deg.C)
• Recommended Charge current for float application 0.25C(total batteries capacity/4)
• Battery rated capacity (according to Power cabinet Type).
1st (enter single battery string capacity and number of battery strings)
2nd (enter total battery capacity) for example ( total rated capacity for site has 2 battery strings 200Ah =400Ah)
• BLVD and LLVD to be adjusted as per below for both cascaded and normal sites.
Parameter Normal Sites Cascaded Sites
LLVD(Radio Loads Disconnect) 44.2V 45.6V
BLLVD(TRM Loads Disconnect) 43.2V 42
Parameter setting @ 25°C
• Float voltage (54.48V).
• Boost ,Equalize voltage or elevated voltage enabled (56.4V).
• Charging current 0.25C (total capacity/4)
• Batteries rated capacity according to number of batteries strings
• site optimum level temperature +25°C
• Temperature compensation/per cell/ 4mV/deg.C @ 25°C .
(compensation coefficient 96mV/deg.C per String)
• BLVD and LLVD to be adjusted as per below for both cascaded and normal sites.
Parameter Normal Sites Cascaded Sites
LLVD(Radio Loads Disconnect) 44.2V 45.6V
BLLVD(TRM Loads Disconnect) 43.2V 42
Installation Guidelines
 Read all instructions before handling, installing and operating the battery
 Follow safety Precautions
 Inspect batteries visually for damages or any deviations
 Prepare location where the batteries should be installed
 Measure the OCV and make necessary arrangement based on OCV difference in a rang of 0,15V/ 12V
Block.
 Install battery in the prepared location
 Make the necessary cabling and install Battery Temperature Compensation charging sensor on the
battery block between Block 2 and 3 .
 Apply freshening charge to batteries based on OCVs and battery manufacture recommendation prior to
operation
 Check power supply system’s controller setting for battery related parameters and adjust if any deviation
from battery manufacture recommendation

• When received Batteries a visual check should be made on the
Batteries If the batteries show transportation damage,
physical damage to the case, leaking electrolyte etc. they
should not be installed and a claim should be initiated

temperature Impact on battery life time

• Batteries are electrochemical devices, so it is recommended to operate the batteries within 20-
25ºC
For example, if the temperature rises from the recommended operating temperature of +25°C, to
+45°C, the expected battery life will decrease from 10 to 2 years
