 Introduction
The goal of creating a thematic analysis is to create specific processes and methods I want
to be able to use in my future role as a mentor and as a leader within my community. The
processes I used was documenting important learning tools learned in my studies at the
Arizona State University and the wonderful professors who have helped to identify critical
areas for leading organizations. Color coding the data I used helped to create and identify
personal and leadership themes. The data was analyzed by documenting it into an excel
format so that it could be analyzed. After analyzing I found that most important to me was
about my family and the needs of my Indigenous community and the people within them.
Research Process and Methods
In the next few slides you will introduce your research, and bullet point
the process and methods you used to compile your data into themes –
what data you used, how you analyzed your data, your approach to
coding your data, any struggles or challenges you encountered
throughout the coding process, and a brief introduction to your life
themes.

 My Data Sources
Utilizing the data sources created in my organizational leadership degree program
helped me to reflect over my life what is important to me and why these values are
important in my life. I have created a thematic legend to help identify the themes in
my thematic analysis such as surveys, questionnaires, written essays, and
coursework data collections.

• Life Story Personal Narrative (LSPN)-This reflective exercise required that I create a substantial narrative of my life story
from birth to the present day. Additionally, throughout the retelling of my story, we were required to identify major
themes which have persisted throughout our life.
• DISC Personality Test (DISC) - This assessment requires users to select two answers from a series of statement clusters,
one which they find most accurate to their personality and one which they believe is least accurate as to their personality.
Each statement has a corresponding value which generates a score for the user in four categories: Dominance, Influence,
Steadiness, and Compliance.

 My Personal Vision Statement
To live a harmonious life inspiring others so that they can see and be the best version of
themselves. To lead a compassionate life so that others can learn to lead family with
compassion and traditional values within Indigenous communities.

Reflection: I used the “Formulating a Personal Vision and Mission Statement” (PDF) provided
to help me formulate my vision statement. My purpose is to articulate my deepest value and
what is important to me. I had to rewrite several times to consolidate utilizing the “t-shirt” rule.
 My Personal Mission Statement
My mission is to be an honest, empathic leader and mentor that my Indigenous communities can count on
while combining traditional values in more meaningful and impactful leadership aspects that can help
create stronger, respectful, responsible individuals to be more mindful of how we can impact the goals in
life within the tribal government.

Reflection: “How to find your personal hedgehog concept” (Collins, 2017) and the question “what am I
truly passionate about?”, “what made me feel like I was supposed to do this”, and although I do not
necessarily feel that an “economic engine” is needed for the work I want to do, my economic engine is
within the wisdom and teachings of perseverance.
