DCG Principles: Rebatment with Regular Solids

Mr. Duffy
Learning Intentions
• Define rebatment, regular solids, hinge
line, and perpendicular in your own
words.
• Carry out a question using the
rebatment method.
• Visualise the view of a hinge line as a
point view.
• Explain the key terminology learned
today.
Rebatment
• Rebatment is the act of rotating or hinging of
faces or edges to see them on a different plane/
angle.
• Rebatment is very common in everyday life
with things such as tilting a can on it’s side.
• The goal of rebatment is to rotate an object or
faces around one point into a different position
or view.
