1: Basic information
Christaphor Relander is a photographer
Analysing a photographer
who uses double exposure to create
beautiful, abstract images with nature. His
work with mason jars captures places
from where he grew up in south Finland,
the jars preserving his memories from his
childhood. This project was called Jarred &
Displaced.
3: Camera settings

work to show multiple pictures in one

2: Visual qualities
I really like this work because I think it is much
more interesting than just a normal landscape
picture. It is abstract showing the landscape
contained in a jar. This creates a story with the
image and feels atmospheric. It is appealing,
charming and uplifting. I like the use of different
environments. They are all in black and white
which draws them together and focuses on the
difference in shapes rather than colour. It
weather, plants, ground, sky and building. The
end are the same creating balance in the frame. 
4: My work
This work relates to the theme lock as the landscapes
are trapped in the jars, confined to the space. I will think
about his work when I do my own shoot trapping
scenes. I will use double exposure, the same as the
photographer, to do this shoot.
