The three main functions of the female
reproductive system are:
Secretion of female sex hormones;
Production of female sex cells called ovum;
Sustenance of life by providing the site for
fertilization

- Highly sensitive organ
composed of nerves, blood
vessels, and erectile tissue.

LABIA MAJORA
- Referred to as the outer lips
- Protect the urethral opening.

LABIA MINORA
- Referred to as the inner lips
- Located inside the labia majora.
- They are more sensitive and
responsive to touch than the labia
majora.
- It tightens during the intercourse.

URINARY MEATUS
- opening of the urethra
into the vestibule.

Ovaries
-small organs on the ends of the Fallopian tubes
responsible for the production and release of eggs
(ova).
-Females are born with all of the eggs they will
ever produce.
-Ovaries alternate the release of eggs each month.
-Like testes, the ovaries produce hormones-
estrogen.
-This release of the ova is called ovulation.

- The formation of an
egg cell or ovum.

FALLOPIAN TUBE
- also called oviducts; are two
tubes connecting the uterus with
the ovaries.

- a small, pear-shaped muscular
organ situated between the
urinary bladder and the rectum.
- It is the site of embryonic
development

- The narrow opening
of the uterus .

also called the birth canal,
a tube leading from the

FOR FEMALE
 Eat a balanced diet that is high in fiber and low in fat.
 Drink plenty of water.
 Get regular exercise.
 Maintain a healthy weight.
 Get enough sleep.
 Avoid using tobacco, alcohol, or other drugs.
 Manage stress in healthy ways.

 Don't use soap
 Don't scrub your intimate area
 Clean from front to back
 Use a wash with natural ingredients
