POPULATION EXPLOSION

PLAN YOUR FAMILY AND PROTECT YOUR PLANET

INTRODUCTION

• One of the major problems india is facing today

is “POPULATION EXPLOSION”.
• It has become one of the most serious problems
our country is facing.
• The current population of india is 1556.34
million, reported on august 14,2022.
• China is on top and india is on 2nd position with
respect to the population.
• Over population has adverse effect on the
economy and the environment.
WHAT IS POPULATION EXPLOSION?

• POPULATION – It is defined as a group of people or animals of a particular kind that live

in a space.
• EXPLOSION – A sudden and very fast increase.
• POPULATION EXPLOSION – The rapid growth of world’s population over the past one
hundred years result from a difference between the rate of birth and rate of death.
• The human population will increase by 1 billion people in next decade.
• Besides, it generates many issues in the country that causes many problems for people.
ADVANTAGES OF
POPULATION
EXPLOSION
• More people leads to greater human capital.
• Higher economic growth.
• Economics of scale.
• The efficiency of higher population density.
• The improved demographic structure of
society.
• Critical mass.
DISADVANTAGES OF
POPULATION
EXPLOSION
• As the population increases there will be
more chances for the exploitation of natural
resources.
• Low per capita income.
• Low quality of life.
• Environment degradation and others.
• The number of unproductive consumers is
increasing.
• Unemployment.
CONSEQUENCES

• 1) PRESSURE ON FOOD,CLOTHING &HOUSING: : A country with fast growing

population has to face a serious problem of scarcity of necessary food, minimum clothing
& proper housing facilities, which are basic needs of human life. Thus, it affects the life
style and results slum areas, starvation etc.

• 2) UNEMPLOYMENT : The overpopulation aggravates the unemployment & disguised

unemployment problem. The vacancy rate is negligible as compared to wants of
employment, which ultimately results into low income groups and large families
depending upon single earning person (earner).
•3) STANDARD OF LIVING: The overpopulation creates or give rise to large families with low income reducing the
standard of persons living therein. The slum areas, starvation and frequently epidemics are the results affecting health
and standard of persons within such nation.

•4) DECREASE OF FOREST AREA: The basic made of the growing population is of residence and shelter. To construct
houses and place of shelter, man is greatly cutting and reducing forest to make a place to live.

•5) ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION: Over populated passion creates a large affect on the environment by exhausting a
large proportion of waste. On the other hand reducing forest which results the growth of pollution.
•6) EDUCATION : The low income of large family dose not afford to provide education to their
children. Which results into creating a problem of illiteracy and again none awareness among the
class.

•7) ENERGY CRISIS : Population explosion accompanied with rapid industrialization and urbanization
has led to greater demand for already deficient energy (fuel wood, fossil fuel and electricity).

•8) Hygienic condition : More people in a small area breed unhygienic condition which has ill effects
on human health
MEASURES TO BE CONTROLLED
• Minimum age of marriage.
• Raising the status of women.
• Spread the education.
• Adoption.
• Change in social outlook.
• Social security.
• More employment opportunities.
• Development of agriculture and industry.
• Standard of living.
• Urbanisation.
CONCLUSION
• Our conclusion after undertaking this project is
that overpopulation is an important topic for
environmental health. Overpopulation is one of
the most important problems facing humanity
today. Our planet’s health and wellness is being
affected by the overpopulation of people on the
planet. Overpopulation affects all of us as
scarcity of food will increase, pollution will
increase and global warming becomes even more
of a problem. With more and more people
putting a strain on the planets already limited
resources measures must be taken to curb
population growth.
