• Functional Verification Instructions for Suez

Purpose of document:

• Due limitations in production testing coverage, this document is used to do manual verification of key software and
hardware features.
• The quantity of verified phones will be decribed in the build definition document.
• Some of the tests takes longer time and might not be done on all selected devices.

Error reporting:

• When a failure is found, inspect 100% of production for that failure condition until either:
The root cause is known, bug/data is collected, documented, understood and the ok is given from the onsite
R&D team to stop 100% inspection.
If the program cannot determine the root cause, then 100% inspection is needed until 5 samples are found.
Beijing will need to package those 5 samples together and send them to the program to diagnose the issue.

• Results will be reported in FOI document.

Error ID’s and the IMEIs of the affected devices should be listed for each failure mode
• Errors should be opened immediately. To speed up the analysis and investigation DO NOT WAIT until the
end of the build to enter errors. Enter errors the same day that they are found. Failure rates should be updated
at the end of the build by the FOI team.

1. Verify the content of the type label:

2. Using a scanner scan the 3D and verify it is read correctly.

SIM card/ SD Card Insertion functionality

1. Remove battery cover and battery.

2. Insert SIM card.
3. The sim card should be correctly inserted with the type label information.
4. Insert SD Micro card.
5. Insert Battery.
6. SD card should be correctly inserted based on the type label information.
7. Put on back cover.

First time start up, steps

1. Press the power button.

2. Wait for the phone to boot up
3. Check for the Wakeup Graphics -Nokia logo & Operator logo (depend on variant)
4. Check for the Wakeup Nokia Tones
5. Wait for the wallpaper to appear
6. Check for any abnormality in display (dots, lines ,marking ,changes in contrast ,flicker etc.)

Network Check

1. With live SIM card in the phone.

2. Verify the phone finds network service:
If local SIM card is used it should not show Roaming.
If non local SIM card is used it should say Roaming
3. Verify signal strength bars show coverage.

Contacts & SMS/MMS Check

1. Save two nos. in phone (1 in SIM, 1 in phone memory )

2. Menu->Contacts->Options->Add New Contact-> Phone/Sim

3. Make & Receive phone call from both nos.

4. Check Call logs with last made calls

5. Send/receive SMS/MMS by both Sim 1 & Sim 2

Pre-Loaded Nokia and variant specific Ringtones

1. Verify Nokia and default ringtones.

2. Settings -> tones-> click on ringtone
3. Click on multiple ring tones to ensure that the tones are different
4. Check the functionality of Vibration Motor while changing the ringtone volume
5. Verify there are 19 windows ringtone (may change based on different variant)

Verify Speaker (IHF) - Music

1. Select a ringtone to be played.

2. Verify the ringtone is played from the speaker.
3. Adjust the volume to highest setting and play the ringtone again.
4. Verify that the ringtone does not sound distorted.

Verify Bluetooth

1. Open Bluetooth menu: Settings -> Connectivity->Bluetooth.

2. Turn Bluetooth On.
3. Check Visibility :Visible to All
4. Search for Bluetooth device.
5. Check for the Default ”Phone Name” –Should be NokiaXXX(Name not decided yet)
6. Connect to your Bluetooth device Via Slam
7. Set up a call and verify you hear audio from the Bluetooth headset and the other person can also hear you.

2. Select ”Allow” for the application to use location information.

1. A voice call is set up.

2. Talk into the main microphone and verify the other person can hear you.
3. Verify you can hear the other person in the earpiece.

be clear.

Verify Audio – Music & FM

1. Open Music app and play a song with loudspeaker (Menu->Music)

2. Insert the headset and play a song
Check whether the Headset icon is displayed & is disappeared upon unplugging

3. Play music with background & check whether music can be played in the background during use other funcs
4. Open Radio app (Menu->Radio)
5. Search all stations
6. Play FM in Headset & Loudspeaker Mode

Verify Call - Wired Headset & Loudspeaker

1. A voice call is set up.

2. Insert a wired headset.
3. Talk and verify the other person can hear you.
4. Verify you can hear the other person in the headset.
5. Turn the volume up (highest) and down and verify you can hear the other person from the both left and right
side of the headset, and the audio should be clear.

6. Turn the “Loudspeaker” on from the dial screen.

7. Hold the phone in normal voice call position and talk.
8. Verify the other person can hear you, and you can hear them from the speaker (IHF).
9. Turn the volume up (highest) and down and verify you can hear the other person from the speaker, the
audio should be clear.

Echo Verification

1. Phone A-Jet, phone B can be any other phone.

2. A voice call is set up.
3. From the Jet phone:
1. Turn the “Speaker” on from the dial screen.
2. Turn the Volume up to max volume.
3. Don’t talk or do anything else from the Jet phone.
4. Phone B to be in a separate room away from phone A.
5. From phone B:
1. Turn the Volume up to max volume.
2. Use the phone in normal talk position (earpiece and main microphone).
3. Talk loudly into the phone
4. Verify if you hear echo, if you hear your own voice or any mumble sound after you talk.

Verify Camera – Photo & Video(Rear Camera)
1. Start the camera app
1. Start the camera app 2. Change to Video by pressing the Menu Key right
2. Zoom in and out with the navi key up & down. 3. Zoom in and out with the navi key right & left
3. Press on the camera icon to take a picture. 4. Start a video by pressing the video icon, an audible tone is heard.
4. Verify photos are ok. 5. Take a 10 sec video, move the phone around and record some audio.

7. Verify charging icon
8. Verify phone is recognised by PC

10. Remove phone and verify audible tone and that charging icon stop.

Apps & SD Card Functionality

Apps:-
1. Time setting -> Go Time setting, set correct date and time
2. Alarm Clock-> Set alarm clock and check it active or not
3. Games -> Available in Apps & Games(Game Not decided yet)
4. Record ->Record some sound(10s ) and play again
5. Torch -> Turn on Torch
6. Notes -> Open & Add note

SD Card:-
Menu-> Select Files
Open Memory Card
Go to photos-Captured->Select Captured picture
View the picture from the SD micro card and verify the quality.
Go to Options:- Check whether Zoom & Crop features are working

Customer Device reset after testing

1.Enter Key string-> *#7370# to do the Factory Reset , Enter Code : 12345
Phone should restore and restart

2. Check phone book: no manually entered contacts should be available (Menu :Contacts)

3. None of the captured images or videos should be available in the gallery (Menu : Photos)
