“MY FIRST DAY IN SCHOOL”


Gretchen: Hi there! What’s your name? Are you a new
student here?
Viene: Hello, I am Viene. Yes, I am a transferee here
from Ifugao. What’s your name?
Gretchen: Wow, my mom is also from Ifugao! I am
Gretchen by the way.
Viene: That’s really nice. May I sit beside you?
Gretchen: of course you may. This is still empty.
Viene: Thank you!
Gretchen: Viene, kindly put your bag on your side. Our
classmate might play on your bag.
Viene: Oh, Im sorry. Thank you for reminding me.
Gretchen: You are welcome.

Four Kinds of Sentences:

1. Declarative sentence- tell about something and gives


us information. It normally ends with a period.

Example: Lualhati is playing at the park.

Yes, I am a transferee from Ifugao.

This sit is still empty.

Our classmates may trip on your bag.


Four Kinds of Sentences:

2. Interrogative sentence- ask a question. It always


ends with a question mark.

Example: Do you play basketball?.

What is your name?

Are you a new student here?

May I sit beside you?

3. Imperative sentence- gives a command or request. It


ends with a period.

Example: Get your pen and paper.

Please open the door quickly.

Give me a glass of water.

Viene, kindly put your bag on your side.

4. Exclamatory sentence- it expresses a strong feeling.


It always end with an exclamation point.

Example: John Mark run, there is a snake!

Yehey, I won the race!

Oh, the house is burning!

on the tv screen, as I flash them identify what kind
of sentences they are. Write D on your show me up
board if the sentence is Declarative, I if it is
Interrogative, R if it is Imperative, and E if the
sentence is Exclamatory
