Personal Statement

To Whom It May Concern,

My name is Maria-Alexandra Calin and I am writing to express my deep interest in applying for the Business and Management.
Growing up in Zumba Restaurant I was exposed to the running and management of a restaurant which my friend is owed. During
my teenage years I helped with restaurant promotion and advertising throughout the city and even the country to attract more
customers. As well as amplifying my interest in marketing and management, the experience proved useful after moving to the
United Kingdom; where I have been responsible for the social media aspects of business marketing at the restaurants I worked
in.Business and marketing has always interested me. After finishing high school and moving to London I began working as a
warehouse operative. I enjoyed the opportunity of learning how a business works, from the initial idea to its execution, and I feel
it is what I want to pursue a career in. My future aspirations are to manage my own company; and I strongly believe the Business
and Management course at New College Durham will provide me with the necessary foundation and knowledge to accomplish
my dream.Being physically as well as socially active is an important aspect of my life. I interact with people of all ages and
developed my commitment, communication and time management skills; all of which are essential qualities when managing a
group of people in a business environment.Overall, I am a proactive and enthusiastic person, and I fully dedicate myself to the
tasks I have at hand. I hope to put the skills gained during my studies and work into good use on the course while learning from
some of the best lecturers at the University of CanterburyThank you for considering my application and I look forward to hearing
