SCOPE AND LIMITATION

This research is limited to the Senior High School students of the

Medina National Comprehensive High School. This study focuses on
the Factors Affecting Mental Health of the Medina National Senior
High School Students. Through conducting a survey we will ask 100
respondents to be part of this study.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Globally, many children and adolescents experience mental health problems, many
PRESENTATION of which can interfere with their development and impair daily functions. For young
OF RESEARCH people, neuropsychiatric disorders are a leading cause of health-related burden.
PROPOSALS 10–20% of children and adolescents worldwide experience mental disorders,
World Health Organization says. Improving mental health can help teenagers
improve their social skills, enhance their ability to solve problems. The family
environment can contribute significantly to mental health problems, such as
depressive symptoms, anxiety, and alcohol abuse. Systemic family dynamics play
a key role in the development of an individual personality. This study aimed to
examine the relationships between family dynamics and the mental health of
adolescents.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

Mental health illnesses rank as the third most common form of morbidity among
PRESENTATION Filipinos. A prevalence of 16% of mental disorders among children was reported.
OF RESEARCH UNICEF reports that children nowadays face a trifecta of threats which include

Department of Education (DepEd) has declared October 11-16, 2021 as National
Mental Health Week. The week's theme is "Mental Health Care for All: Let's Make
it a Reality". Only 5% of the healthcare expenditure is directed toward mental
health. There are only 7.76 hospital beds and 0.41 psychiatrists per 100,000
people. National Mental Health Week will run from October 11 to 16, 2021.
Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones: "Looking out for everyone's mental
state is a continuous process".
