Adding an embroidered design to a
garment always adds a classy touch to
elevates the product instantly. That said,
you must follow a few principles while
designing an embroidered item to ensure
quality and attractiveness. It might be
challenging to find the right balance
between simple and appealing.

PRINCIPLES OF
DESIGNS
- are ideas for organizing or
arranging the structural aspects of
the design. These principles are
applied to affect the expressive
content or the message of the work.
1. BALANCE
- according this principle, from the
center of the dress, a design should
be identified on both sides, and it
can be done in various ways.
A. Symmetrical
balance - also known as
formal balance, is defined
an equal “weight” on all
sides.
B. Asymmetrical balance
or informal balance
-is when the structure decoration and
accessories are distinct on both sides from the

C. Proportion
- is a agreeable relationship of all components of the
object to one another. It refers to the relative and
sizes of an several objects.
2. EMPHASIS
- Is the focal point or point of interest.

3. VARIETY
- Is to create visual interest. Color, images,
typography, forms and nearly any other design
element can all be used to generate a variety.
4. RHYTHM
- series of soft movement
that are done repeatedly.

- Refers to the gradual changes of
lines, or color shade can be used to
generate rhythm.
5. MOVEMENT
- Refers to how the eyes move across
a design.

- refers on how nicely the design

- refers to the relationship
between elements in the
design, especially adjacent
elements.
8. WHITE SPACE
- often known as “negative space”,
refers to a part of the design that are
void of any design components.

DESIGN
- A design is a graphic representation of your
embroidery project that can use to produce it. The
basic elements of design which are simply the
fundamental aspects of any visual design are line,
shape, color, textures, and space.
a. line - can be horizontal, vertical, dotted, zigzag,
curved, straight, diagonal, bold, or fine.

b. Shapes - are lines that are connected.

COLOR
THEORY
The color of the clothes or anything
else is usually the first thing you
notice. Before you start looking at
which colors go together best, you
should first learn the meaning of
color terminologies and the color
principles that apply to them.
The color wheel
- is a circular diagram (as in a
wheel) that shows a relationship
between different colors that
help and create a good color
scheme in any art project.
Primary
colors

- are the origins in all


colors.
Secondar
y colors
- are created by combining two
primary and secondary colors in
equal amounts.
Intermediate
colors
- are created by
combining two primary
and secondary colors in
equal amount.
Pure colors

- are often known as


normal, true, or basic
colors.

- are purer colors that lightened
when they are blended with
white. Pastels colors are

- are pure colors that are
darkened when they are
blended with black.

- are white black and gray

other colors.
