FARM TOOLS IN

CROP
PRODUCTION
SLIDESMANIA.C
HELLO! I’M...
Ma’am Sheila
SLIDESMANIA.C
By the end of this lesson, students will be able to
identify and differentiate between various hand
tools and farm implements used in crop
production, understand their functions, and
practice safety measures while using farm tools and
equipment.
SLIDESMANIA.C
IMPORTANCE OF FARM
TOOLS IN CROP PRODUCTION
Farm tools, implements, and equipment play very
important role in agricultural crop operations. Their
availability makes the work much easier and faster.
However, even if one may have the most
sophisticated tools and implements, but does not
know how to use them, they are useless.
SLIDESMANIA.C
Carefully chosen machinery can allow crops
to be grown and harvested with minimum-
to-no soil disturbance, ensure that the soil
surface remains protected by organic
cover, manage crop rotations to enhance
soil health and conserve crop nutrients.

FARM EQUIPMENT
Objects that are usually light and are used without the help
of animals and machines •Preventive maintenance - an
activity or operation done to prevent malfunction of tools
and equipment and it is done to prolong the useful life of
tools and equipment •Repair - to restore to good condition
SLIDESMANIA.C
FARM TOOLS
These are machineries used in crop production. They are
used in land preparation and in transporting farm inputs
and products. These equipment a highly skilled operator to

SLIDESMANIA.C
PLOW
- These are farm implements either pulled by a working animal or a
tractor. The plow is specifically used for tilling large areas, making
furrows and inter row cultivation. Plows pulled by working animals
are made of either a combination of metal and wood or pure metal.
They are used to till areas with a shallower depth than that of the
disc plows which are

Did you know?
Pandas don’t hibernate.
When winter approaches, they head lower down their mountain homes to warmer temperatures,
where they continue to chomp away on bamboo!

There are more kangaroos than humans in Australia.

It is estimated that more than 50 million kangaroos live there. They are Australia’s national symbol
and appear on postage stamps, coins, and airplanes.

Koalas are even more lazy than cats.

Koalas don’t have much energy and, when not feasting on leaves, they spend their time dozing in the

branches. Believe it or not, they can sleep for up to 18 hours a day!
