WHAT ARE POLYGONS?

▸ A closed figure with a set of line

TYPES OF POLYGONS
▸ Regular polygons - A polygon with equal sides and
equal angles
▸ Irregular polygon - A polygon with unequal sides
and/or unequal angles
▸ Convex polygon - A polygon where sum of the
interior angles is less than 180degrees and the
vertex is outwards
▸ Concave polygon - A polygon where measure of
any one interior angle is more than 180 degrees and
the vertices are inwards
▸ Equiangular polygon - A polygon with measure of
all interior angles equal
TYPES OF ANGLES
▸ Key- blue= interior, green- exterior
PROPERTIES & FORMULAS OF POLYGONS
‣A polygon with x sides has x (x-3)/2 diagonals
‣The sum of all the exterior angles of a regular polygon is equal to 360 degrees.
‣Exterior angle of a regular polygon with x sides is 360/x
‣The sum of all interior angles of a x -sided polygon is ( x-2) x 180.
‣Each interior angle of a regular polygon with x sides is ( x-2) * 180 / x
