Read the short story and answer the questions below.

Elli’s Teddy
by Allan L. de Silva

On her 5th birthday, Elli received a big stuffed toy from


her mother and father. She loved her new toy very much
and named it Teddy. Wherever she goes, she carries
Teddy with her. She could not sleep without Teddy by her
side.
One day, her cousin Ava, along with her parents, came to visit them. Ava has liked Teddy at once. But Elli does not want to share her toy with her. This made little Ava sad.

“Elli, you should share your toy with your cousin. That is how family treat each other,” Elli’s mother said.

“But she has lots of toys at home. This is mine,” Elli stubbornly said
“Darling, how would you feel if it was you who wants to
borrow Ava’s toys and she refused? Would you like that?”
her mom asked.

“I will feel sad. Okay, I will lend her my Teddy,” Elli


Exclaimed.

Soon, the loud giggles of the two girls can be heard as


they play with Teddy.
