Mom Needs Help

One morning, Kyla, Dylan, Zach and Deanne woke up early.
“Good morning, Mom!” They chorused.
“Good morning! I need help”, said Mom.
“Mai I help?” asked Kyla.
“Yes Kyla. Please put the plates on the table.”
“May I help?” asked Dylan.
“Yes, Dylan. Please fill the pitcher with water”.
“May I help?” asked Zach.
“Yes Zach. You may put these spoons and forks on the table”.
“May I help?” asked Deanne.
“Yes, Deanne. You may put the bread and butter on the table.”
“I need help, kids.” Mom said.
“Can we wash the dishes?” the children asked.
“Oh sure! That’s the help I need, “Mom answered.
They all laughed.
Characters are the people, animals, or objects in the story.
Settings tells where and when the story happens.
Events are the things happened in the story.
Questions:
1. Who are the characters in the story? What can you say about the family in the
story?
2. Where is the setting of the story?
3. What are the things happened in the story? Cite each one?
Language
Recall: A sentence is a group of words that expresses a complete thought.
A group of words that has an incomplete thought is a non-sentence.
