Bow Thruster: Is a transversal propulsion device built into, or


mounted to, the bow of a ship.

Bulbous Bow: It modifies the flow of water around the ship. To


reduce drag, increases speed, -range and fuel efficiency. Reduces
pitching in heavy seas and its designed for tankers, bulk carriers,
and modern cargo liners to increase speed .

Rudder: Gets used to steer the ship and enables the vessel to
maintain her course.
Propeller: Gets used to propel the ship forward or backwards

auxiliary machinery (boilers, generators, etc.) used for maneuvering
purposes, steering, mooring, cargo handling and for various other
