Biomass
Biomass refers to the different types of
living organisms in a particular
environment or ecosystem. Producers and
consumers are divided into levels
according to the food chain. Besides, it
also refers to the number of species in a

7
Biomass works based
on the principle of
carbon cycle

Animals, plants and factories,…

release CO2 into the atmosphere,
trees will absorb that CO2 again,
creating a closed cycle

8
Biomass cycle

Biomass cycle have no fossil fuel in, so it have Zero Net CO2

Application of Biomass

Biofuels
Produced from raw materials such
as agricultural waste, manure, municipal
waste, plant material, sewage, green
waste, waste water, food waste, …

The gas composition is primarily methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) and
may have small amounts of hydrogen sulfide (H2S), moisture and siloxanes.

Biogasoline
Biogasoline is a type of gasoline produced
from biomass.

Biogasoline includes biomethanol,

bioethanol, biobutanol,... in which
bioethanol is the main one. For example,
E5 gasoline (RON 95) has 5% biofuel

Biofuels
Biodiesel is a type of fuel with properties
equivalent to diesel fuel but is not produced
from petroleum but from vegetable oil or
animal fat. From a chemical perspective,
biodiesel is a methyl este of fatty acids.

Besides being used as fuel, it can also be used

to make food products, such as butter and milk
from seeds or plants.
